I LOVE small weddings. I love backyard weddings. They’re always incredibly unique and meaningful and so much fun for me to photograph. So when I met with Kayla and Adam at a local cupcake shop (Baked and Wired…it’s literally the best) and they told me about their plans for a small, backyard wedding in Potomac, Maryland, complete with DIY ceremony site, I really couldn’t have been more excited. And it certainly didn’t disappoint! It was a beautiful day and entirely too much fun. Here’s a preview and if you can’t get enough, check out their engagement session here 🙂

Last August I was lucky enough to visit the Manuel Antonio region of Costa Rica with my husband and friends. This country absolutely did not disappoint. It’s overflowing with wildlife, literally everywhere you look. I think we saw 7-8 different sloths in our week long stay, including a mother and PRECIOUS little fuzz nugget of a baby.

We started our stay at HACIENDA BARU, a privately owned nature preserve that’s walking distance to the beach and jungles. I absolutely loved this spot. Every morning you could walk the grounds and see tons of wildlife. We then moved to the more central area of Manuel Antonio, staying at HOTEL COSTA VERDE in a cabin on the edge of the jungle. We were awoken almost every morning by  band of capuchin monkeys that tried to break into our kitchen. It was an incredible trip and we absolutely see ourselves going back. Pura Vida!
